Privacy Policy
Next Pour, operated by Michael Phillips, is a cocktail discovery and personalization app. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Android app.
No account required
Next Pour is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or sign in. Core features can be used without providing your name or email address.
Information stored on your device
Depending on the features you use, Next Pour may store preferences, Taste DNA results, favorites, ratings, saved recipes, bar inventory, zero-proof preferences, strength preferences, and other app settings locally on your device. This information is used to personalize recommendations and app features.
No advertising
Next Pour does not contain ads or integrate Google AdMob, advertising consent tools, or retailer tracking. Your taste profile, shelf, and favorites are not used by the app to target advertisements.
Analytics and diagnostics
Optional scanning uses Google ML Kit through Google Play services. Google documents collection of SDK diagnostics and usage information, including device and app information, identifiers, performance, configuration, scan events, and errors. This is separate from your locally stored taste profile and favorites. See Google ML Kit data disclosure and Google Privacy Policy. Next Pour does not include a separate advertising or app-analytics SDK.
Optional camera, photo, and barcode scanning
You may choose a photo or use your device's camera app to recognize bottle labels and barcodes. Recognition runs on your device through Google ML Kit; Next Pour does not upload the image to an external AI service. Google Play services may download recognition models and process the SDK diagnostics described above. The app presents possible matches for you to confirm, and manual entry is always available. Avoid selecting images containing sensitive personal information.
Purchases
The current app does not offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or a lifetime paid unlock. It does not collect payment-card information. If purchasing features are introduced later, this policy and the app's disclosures will be updated before those features are offered.
Commercial neutrality
Advertising, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, or retailer links do not change the organic ranking of Next Pour's personalized drink recommendations. Recommendation results are intended to be based on your preferences and the app's recommendation logic, not on payment from a brand or retailer.
Sharing and external links
If you choose to share a drink, recipe, or result, Android may open another app you select. Information you intentionally share is then handled by that service. Retailer or other external links open outside Next Pour and are governed by the destination's privacy practices.
Data deletion
You can remove locally stored Next Pour data by using available in-app reset or delete controls, clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app. This does not delete information already processed by Google Play services or another external service you intentionally used; those providers manage information under their own policies.
Children
Next Pour is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their location and is not directed to children. Non-alcoholic recipes do not change this audience restriction.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the app's design, but no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Next Pour's features, SDKs, advertising practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
